Sasha Banks has taken to social media to celebrate the anniversary of her NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn match against Bayley.
On August 22, 2015, Bayley defeated Sasha Banks for the NXT Women’s Championship. Many consider this bout to have been the catalyst for the current landscape of women’s wrestling.
Banks took to Instagram with several action shots from the bout. She captioned the post:
Bare witness to my evolution. Happy anniversary to the greatest feeling #nxtbrooklyn
Banks hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since she and Naomi walked out on the May 16 Raw taping. The duo were stripped of the Women’s Tag Team Championship and indefinitely suspended.
The duo have reportedly agreed in principle to return, with Triple H in charge of creative.
Former NXT Champion Johnny Gargano is the latest star to return to WWE TV, appearing on the August 22 edition of Raw in Toronto.
Bayley also returned to singles action on WWE Raw, defeating Aliyah.
