SmackDown Tag Team Title Match Announced For SummerSlam

A SmackDown Tag Team Championship match has been officially announced for SummerSlam on August 21 at the Allegiant Stadium.

WWE has announced that The Usos will defend their SmackDown Tag Team Championship against Rey & Dominik Mysterio at SummerSlam 2021.

Jimmy & Jey Uso defeated Rey & Dominik Mysterio for the gold during the Money in the Bank kick-off last month. On the July 30 episode of SmackDown, Rey Mysterio bested Jimmy Uso with the same “assisted pin” the Usos previously used to win the tag title.

Also on the August 21 show, John Cena will challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. For recent house shows and dark matches, The Mysterios have teamed with Cena to wrestle Reigns & The Usos.

While it was reported that WWE were anticipating a return to the Performance Center or ThunderDome within the next few weeks due to the pandemic, WrestleVotes and Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast both have been told that the Allegiant Stadium are still preparing for SummerSlam.

Fans attending the Biggest Party of the Summer will have to wear masks, as per a recent mandate.
