Some WWE Fans Outraged With Aalyah Mysterio & Murphy Kiss

Last night on Friday Night SmackDown, Aalyah Mysterio tried to stop her brother and father from attacking Murphy by revealing that she is in love with the former Cruiserweight Champion. The pair then kissed in the middle of the ring.

The storyline and kiss on last night’s show seems to have upset a portion of fans online, with some taking issue with the fact that Aalyah Mysterio is just 19-years-old, making Murphy 13-years her senior.

Below you can see a selection of tweets from people online who aren’t too pleased with how WWE has hanled this romance storyline between Murphy and Aalyah:

@GamersGoonYT: Hey, Vince… don’t know if your aware, but Aalyah is only 19, Buddy is 32…. I know you don’t like addressing issues, but please tell me you understand why this is a bad idea.

@KIDCUDSWORTH: Really? I mean I never thought that you would actually go through with it to be honest. But really? After what transpired earlier this year dude? Velveteen dream? Come on man.

@Escalation25: There is just no way if I’m Rey mysterious I’m letting this happen . This age gap is too much . Maybe if she was like 25 and he was 38 . 19 bruh she just finished high school

@KevinMichael_23: This is wrong in so many ways!!! WWE is encouraging older men to go for younger girls. Shame on them

However, not everyone watching was outraged by the kiss. Just like those who have taken to Twitter to express their unhappiness with the storyline, many have also commented on how they don’t see any problems with it:

@Loacorn: You do realize Aalyah is 19… She’s not underage, and the age gap isn’t huge or anything

@Riku_DawnSeeker: Both are at legal age and it’s no different from young actresses kissing older actors in movies or TV shows!

@crazyasmidnight: She’s an adult. It’s a storyline. Move along.

@Pacman072286: She’s 19 and legal, stop acting like she’s 16 and they’re both consenting adults.

The storyline is undeniably one that has divided opinion online, but what are your thoughts on the angle? Let us know in the comments on Twitter or Facebook.
