Spoiler On Adam Cole Opponent For AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023

Following his promo exchange with AEW World Champion MJF on Dynamite, Adam Cole once again made his way to the ring on Rampage, only to again be confronted by the champion.

While Cole goaded Max into accepting Hiroshi Tanahashi’s Forbidden Door challenge on Dynamite, it seems as if the champion was keen to return the favor.

MJF told AEW President Tony Khan to also book Cole in a match on June 25, against none other than Tom Lawlor.

This led Lawlor to surprisingly show up and attack Cole from behind, thus setting up a match between the two at Scotiabank Arena for Forbidden Door.

This follows Wednesday’s unexpected next step in this rivalry where it was announced that instead of a rematch, MJF and Cole will instead team up as part of the blind tag team title eliminator tournament.

Elsewhere on the Rampage card was a surprise appearance of former WWE star, Johnny Elite (FKA John Morrison) who aligned with the QT Marshall’s QTV faction.

Also, the female bracket of the Owen Hart tournament began with Skye Blue looking to continue her recent momentum against Anna Jay A.S.

Elsewhere NJPW faction United Empire (Will Ospreay, Kyle Fletcher & Jeff Cobb) were in action as well as DOUKI, who took on soon to be IWGP World Heavyweight Championship challenger, Jungle Boy Jack Perry.
