Usually, the ratings war between AEW Dynamite and NXT is pretty cut and dry. Once the numbers come out most fans give them a look, say “huh”, and then move on. The numbers usually don’t change much afterward and even less often to any corrections make a difference.
This week is the exception as Dave Meltzer has reported on Twitter that the updated numbers show the two shows tied in viewership last week. Here is the tweet:
God I can just imagine the insanity this will cause. Neilson's updated numbers for last Wednesday have AEW Dynamite with 712,000 viewers. This is going to be like people who think Trump won the election.

“God I can just imagine the insanity this will cause. Neilson’s updated numbers for last Wednesday have AEW Dynamite with 712,000 viewers. This is going to be like people who think Trump won the election.”
The original numbers had NXT at 712,000 average viewers and AEW Dynamite at 710,000 average viewers. It was a bit surprising but with numbers that close, the slightest change can alter the result.
As we have now seen, the two shows tied in viewership for their November 25 episodes. It was the Thanksgiving Eve episode for both shows, a factor that also hurt AEW last year.
While AEW was focused on building to tonight’s Jon Moxley vs. Kenny Omega match, NXT continued to build towards their NXT TakeOver WarGames event.
