The Tag Team Championship unification match proposed across WWE television this week has been made official for WrestleMania Backlash.
While Roman Reigns commanded the Usos to go to Raw and obtain the Raw Tag Team Championships for the Bloodline, nothing had been made official until tonight.
RK-Bro responded to the challenge early in tonight’s SmackDown (April 15) and accepted the match after which the Usos attacked Riddle in the ring.
A short time later when Riddle and Orton went to confront Adam Pearce backstage about the status of the match and wanting to fight tonight, he informed them that “higher-ups” had not yet approved the unification.
Pearce then offered Riddle a match against Jimmy Uso for later in the show as a compromise.
Later in the show, Michael Cole announced that it had been confirmed and the match had been made for WrestleMania Backlash with RK-Bro versus The Usos for a unification match of the Raw and SmackDown tag team championship titles.
Elsewhere announced for WrestleMania Backlash includes an ‘I Quit’ match between Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey as well as a continuation of the burgeoning Rhodes vs. Rollins feud with Cody Rhodes taking on his WrestleMania opponent Seth Rollins in a re-match.
