The title changes just keep on coming as Tetsuya Naito has regained the IWGP Intercontinental Championship. He defeated Jay White in the semi-main event of Wrestle Kingdom 14 to win the title for the fifth time.
Naito will now advance to the main event of the second night of Wrestle Kingdom. Tomorrow he will face the IWGP Heavyweight Champion to see who will be the first Double Champion.
Naito has now won the Intercontinental Championship three times in the last 365 days. He won it from Chris Jericho at Wrestle Kingdom 13 before losing it to Kota Ibushi at G1 Supercard. He would regain it from Ibushi at Dominion and lost it to Jay White at Destruction in Kobe.
The commentators were pushing hard that if Naito was unable to pick up the win he should consider retirement. As of right now, he is off to a good start.
