The Rock Phrase ‘Jabroni’ Officially Added To Dictionary

Dictionary.com has officially revealed a list of newly added words for the year of 2020, and among them is a term coined by The Rock – “jabroni”.

The official definitions are as follows:

1. Slang. a stupid, foolish, or contemptible person; loser:

She always has a comeback to own the trolls and jabronis on Twitter

Shut your mouth, you dumb jabroni!

2. Also called en·hance·ment tal·ent [en-hans-muhnt tal-uhnt], job·ber  [job-er]

.Professional Wrestling. a wrestler whose purpose is to lose matches against headlining wrestlers in order to build up the status and fame of the headliners

The man is a legend in the ring—he eats jabronis for breakfast.

The Rock coined the term in the late 1990s into the 2000s, using it as an insult to his opponents during promos.

The phrase is still used by wrestlers and fans to this day, and its addition to the dictionary speaks to the influence Rock has accumulated over the years.
