The Rock Return On September 15 WWE SmackDown Draws Fourth Highest Quarter Hour Of 2023 WWE

The Rock’s return on the September 15 WWE SmackDown has drawn the fourth highest quarter hour rating of 2023 so far.

As previously reported, the September 15 edition of WWE SmackDown drew the second highest total viewership for the show of the year so far.

This is notable since last Friday’s episode featured the shocking return of The Rock for the first time in four years. Before his return, Pat McAfee also made his return in the opening segment, which also featured Austin Theory.

Per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the first two quarter-hours of SmackDown featuring The Rock and Pat McAfee’s returns averaged 2.80 million and 2.79 million viewers.

The first two quarter-hours were of course the highest of the show. They are only topped by three other SmackDown quarter-hours so far in 2023.

The highest SmackDown quarter-hour of the year so far was “The Tribal Court” segment with The Bloodline on the July 7 episode, which drew 3.070 million viewers.

The other two SmackDown quarter-hours that drew more viewers were Roman Reigns’ 1000-day celebration on the June 2 episode with 2.901 million viewers and the Bray Wyatt and Terry Funk tributes that opened the August 25 edition.
