Reigns then told Rollins he wanted to reunited the Shield “one last time”, specifically mentioning that Ambrose was leaving. Rollins was reluctant at first but eventually agreed.
Dean Ambrose came out to give his answer but was attacked on the ramp by Elias before he was able to accept or reject the offer. Roman Reigns met up with him backstage later on and told Ambrose he “always had a seat next to him”. Ambrose was noncommittal, instead going off to prepare for his match with Elias. He was similarly unmoved when Rollins tried to make peace with him.
Ambrose lost the match against Elias then walked away through the crowd when Rollins and Reigns attempting to reconcile with him. A subsequent attack from Drew McIntyre, Lashley and Baron Corbin finally changed his mind. Ambrose ran back to the ring and helped Seth and Roman clear out the ring.
The three then embraced with the classic Shield pose, officially confirming they were back as a unit. They are now confirmed to battle Drew, Baron and Lashley at Fastlane in Reigns’ comeback match.
