The expected timeframe for the AEW return of Thunder Rosa has been revealed following the big announcement on Dynamite last night.
That announcement was that Rosa is no longer AEW Women’s World Champion, and Jamie Hayter has gone from interim champion to full champion.
Also, Toni Storm’s reign with the interim title will now actually be recognised as an official full title reign instead of interim.
Rosa hasn’t wrestled since August 10 due to injury issues, hence why she’s been forced to give up the title.
On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed when Rosa is now expected back. He said:
“The deal with Rosa was that, when she went down, she was going to lose the title at that pay-per-view (All Out) to Toni Storm.
“They expected her back November/December, in that timeframe, and I think the feeling was, because of what happened with Punk, where they gave him a couple of months, to be consistent they would have to do the same thing here.
“Now it’s looking like February, so now I think they’re saying February’s too long.”

Rosa did post a tweet after the announcement last night, writing:
“Thank you #ThunderArmy for all the support and @aew for being there for me. Dream-like moments happened in this run, and this is not how I wanted to lose the championship, but you deserve a present champion; on to the next chapter.”
It’s not yet known who Hayter’s first defence will be against or when, but the obvious opponent for her at AEW’s next pay-per-view, Revolution on March 5, looks to be Britt Baker.
Hayter and Baker teamed together on Dynamite last night to beat the teams of Tay Melo & Anna Jay, and Willow Nightingale & Skye Blue, in a three-way tag match.
