Before coming to WWE, the members of The Undisputed Era had made names for themselves in international wrestling through ROH and NJPW.
There can be no doubt about their in-ring credentials and it came as no surprise that Bobby Fish would join WWE in 2017, becoming a fundamental part of WWE NXT’s rise to greatness alongside the other members of The Undisputed Era, Adam Cole, Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly.
It was, however, something of a surprise to a WWE Executive however, according to Tommy Dreamer.
Speaking on his House of Hardcore podcast, Dreamer recalled a conversation with former Senior Director of Talent Relations Mark Carrano:
“I didn’t even work at WWE and Mark Carrano called me up about you. It was this whole, ‘Who the f**k is Bobby Fish?’ I was like, ‘Bobby is a great guy, I know him well.’ He’s like, ‘He was booked, and then he wasn’t booked, and now we’re signing him.’ ‘I don’t know anything about this.'”
Carrano tenure with WWE came to an end in 2021, following backlash surrounding Mickie James having her possessions sent to her in a trash bag following her release.
There’s clearly no love for Carrano from Dreamer who concluded by saying:
“Shout out to the stooge Mark Carrano. Top stooge.”
