In one of the more shocking moments from Full Gear this weekend, former WWE stars Shane Helms and Gangrel made surprise apearances in the Elite Deletion match between Sammy Guevara and Matt Hardy.
It had not been reported or even speculated before the show that either Helms or Gangrel would be appearing in the match or at AEW Full Gear in any capacity for that matter, but it may not be their last dates with AEW.
While speaking on to the media as part of the media scrum following Full Gear on Saturday night, Tony Khan said that he’d be opening to work with Helms and Gangrel again, but didn’t have immediate plans for them:
“I don’t know, you never know what’s in the future. To be honest, I don’t have them booked on anything in the next loop, or in the immediate future, but at the same time I’m open for them to come back.”
“I was at the [Hardy] Compound for the shoot for the [Elite] Deletion producing the match, and I spent time with both guys. I really, I’ve known Shane for a while, and I had never met Gangrel before and I really enjoyed spending time with both guys and I’d love to see both of them come back at some point. I think that would be a lot of fun.”
