Former WCW lead commentator Tony Schiavone is making his return to the NWA announce booth for the first time since the 1980s.
The 60-year old will call the main event of the NWA’s 70th Anniversary celebration show between Cody and Nick Aldis on October 21 in Nashville, Tennessee.
The news was revealed on the latest episode of Ten Pounds of Gold. Schiavone appearing via video message to confirm the news himself.

Schiavone was the recognisable voice of WCW Monday Nitro from its inception in 1995 until its demise in 2001.
Prior to that he was a regular commentator for WCW and the NWA before that. In addition, he enjoyed a one year spell with the WWF from 1989-90.
After over a decade away, Schiavone returned to the commentary desk in 2017, installed as a commentator for MLW’s Fusion television show.
