The only title that Miro held in WWE was the United States Championship, but it has emerged that the AEW wrestler was supposed to win the Intercontinental Championship during his time with the promotion.
During his rather newsworthy appearance on the Talk is Jericho podcast, Miro spoke about how WWE was furious with him after it leaked that he and Lana were engaged. This led to plans for him being dropped.
Miro (formerly Rusev) noted that because he and Lana were in the middle of a break-up storyline on TV, higher-ups within WWE were understandably furious that their engagement was leaked in the news.
Miro noted that Lana shared some photos with her friends and family, and these eventually found themselves online. He claimed that as a result, plans for him to win the Intercontinental Championship were dropped.
As previously noted, Miro’s Talk is Jericho podcast appearance was rather newsworthy, with the current AEW star talking abut the following topics on the show:
- Miro was told he and Bobby Lashley were going to main event WrestleMania with their infamous feud last year
- He also spoke about being fined by WWE for changing up his appearance without getting approval from higher-ups
- He suggested that he actually asked for his release in 2017, three years before being fired by the company
- Miro also revealed that Vince McMahon gave him a bonus for breaking an unwritten WWE rule
