WWE Star Says John Cena Gave Him ‘Free Game’ Upon His WWE Return WWE

A WWE star says John Cena gave him “free game” upon his WWE return.

Hit Row’s Ashante “Thee” Adonis, B-Fab and Top Dolla made their return to WWE in August 2022. The hip hop act first made a name for themselves on the NXT brand and have had live performances on WWE television.

Though Top Dolla is a former NFL player, he has never been shy about how WWE always inspired him, notably crediting The Rock and John Cena as two stars he looked up to.

Speaking with the AP Football Podcast, Top Dolla revealed that he had a conversation with John Cena where he shared advice on his character. He said:

“The Rock is the reason that I’m a wrestler. I grew up a huge fan of The Rock. Without him, I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing today. He made me care. He was the guy.”

“To this day, I’m still a huge fan of his, even though I’ve met him. I’m still a huge fan of his. The Rock, definitely, is the guy who had a big impact on me.”

“As well as John Cena. When he came back a few months ago, we sat down and had a conversation in his dressing room. He just gave me some free game because we’re doing our hip-hop characters and he was the most successful hip-hop character in wrestling history.”

“Being able to take free game from him about how to do it and do it the right way, it was huge. He was so good at and that’s what made him a megastar.”

John Cena is set to make his in-ring return against Austin Theory for the WWE United States Championship at WrestleMania 39.
