Top Star Believes WWE Is Similar To Hollywood WWE

A top star believes WWE is similar to Hollywood.

John Cena is one of the biggest and most decorated stars in WWE history. The 16-time WWE Champion has transitioned from the ring to the big screen.

Cena has become one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actors with starring roles in the Fast and Furious series and in the DCEU as Peacemaker.

Appearing on Impaulsive, Logan Paul spoke with John Cena and brought his belief that the Hollywood environment is much different from WWE. However, Cena explained:

“So, I disagree. I used to think you were right. Everyone talks about how we play big to the WWE, and it’s small to cinema, and they’re correct, but it’s all storytelling.”

“It’s all knowing the character, knowing the story, knowing your why, being coachable, understanding your role on the chessboard, at least from my perspective, and the great thing is it’s [subjective] and it’s creative.”

“Everything I tell you about WWE is only from my lens, it’s not right or wrong. It’s just, this is the knowledge I have, here you go, enjoy.”

“It took 10 years for me to find my flow, my comfort on screen, and that came with great coaching. Judd Apatow and Amy Schumer gave me an environment to be myself.”

“I’m in a movie with comedians. Comedians who get paid to make people laugh. You want to talk about an outsider? Me.”

“Not one of them made me feel like an outsider, they’d be like ‘just go for it’. I can’t tell you how many takes they must have sat through that weren’t funny to get to the gold that they were able to coach out of me.”

Cena continued on to explain why his early projects weren’t as successful, saying:

“One of the many reasons a lot of those early projects weren’t successful was I wanted to be back in the ring.”

“[Logan’s] been in the ring, I look at those images on the wall in your gym and you’re midair and the people behind you and you’re like ‘yo, look at this dude’s face’, that doesn’t happen on a movie set.”

“It’s radio silent and it is really finite and the days are long and you have to have a certain mindset, and as a young man in the travelling business with every town going f**king nuts, I did not have that mindset.”

“Everytime I had this golden ticket of an opportunity I was like ‘I wanna be back in the ring’ and the projects suck because I always wanted to be elsewhere.”
