Adam Pearce has announced that a top WWE star has not been cleared to compete, and has been pulled from the King of the Ring tournament.
The 2024 WWE King of the Ring is set to begin on tonight’s episode of Raw, with the first round matches from the Raw side of the bracket being announced at Backlash.
In the tournament, Drew McIntyre was set to face off against Finn Balor of the Judgment Day in the first round, but that match will no longer be happening.
Per WWE, Drew McIntyre has not been medically cleared for the match, and has been pulled from the King of the Ring Tournament.
Drew’s replacement against Finn Balor has not yet been announced, and we will provide any updates as they become available.
The other first round matches from the Raw side will see Gunther face Sheamus, Ilja Dragunov face Ricochet and Kofi Kingston face Rey Mysterio.
We wish Drew a full and complete recovery.
