Update: Dean Ambrose No Longer Advertised For WWE Live Events Following Contract Expiration Date

WWE was previously advertising Dean Ambrose to appear on the European Tour throughout May despite the fact that his contract is set to expire following WrestleMania in April. Ambrose is very publically believed to be leaving the promotion when his contract is up as stated by WWE themselves.

The advertisements, of course, had fans confused and speculation began. WWE has since altered the promotional material, however, removing the ‘Lunatic Fringe’ from all events.

As we know from this year’s Royal Rumble – as well as countless other events – the promotion is not above advertising a star for an event to boost ticket sales before pulling them with no intention of ever having them actually appear.

What is interesting, however, is the current storyline forming on Monday Night Raw. With Roman Reigns returning, all three members of the Shield are in the same place once again and a reunion match is reportedly scheduled for WWE Fastlane. But will that match be the end of it?

There have been reports that one of Reigns’ jobs – now that he is healthy again – is to convince Ambrose to stay. According to the Wrestling Observer Radio, when a fan asked the ‘Big Dog’ about Ambrose’s exit, he replied, “I’ll take care of that.” That then begs the question as to whether the original advertisements were simply errors exposing current plans for Ambrose down the line should he remain with the promotion.

The idea that Ambrose leaving is a part of a giant storyline is still fiercely debated today and this news will only add more fuel to the fire.
