There is an update regarding the recent news of a knee injury occurring at this past week’s AEW Dynamite tapings, including confirmation and more details.
I was reported that Kris Statlander suffered a knee injury, and she has now taken to Twitter to confirm the severity, writing:
“Since the news is out. I told you I’d dive on Kip again and dammit I did. But in doing so, I ended up with a high grade tear in my ACL. Yes I need surgery. Yes I’ll be out of the ring for a while. I’ll do my best to still show up on your TVs as much as I can.”
Statlander is currently ranked #2 in the women’s division, although the rankings are only updated each Wednesday before Dynamite, so that might have changed by the next episode.
She lost in a tag match this past Wednesday, teaming with Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida in a losing effort to the team of Penelope Ford and Nyla Rose, a match in which Shida took the fall to Ford.
Statlander was the latest guest on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, during which she spoke about a move that Kenny Omega has prevented her from doing, which you can read more about at this link.
We at WrestleTalk.com wish Statlander a safe recovery.
