As you may have noticed, this week’s episode of Raw was a bit of a random one, with four NXT debuts and a bunch of matches we’d already seen several hundred times.
This, in part, seems to have been because of Seth Rollins, who was booked to take a bump or two during Raw, and was set to appear throughout the three hours.
Unfortunately just hours before the show, it was ruled that Seth was still not cleared to take bumps with his persistent back injury that has kept him out for three weeks now.
His next scheduled match is at WrestleMania against Brock Lesnar, so WWE are understandably wary and protective over his injury.
Dave Meltzer noted today on Wrestling Observer Radio that Rollins is having issues with the L7 disc in his back. The injury does not need surgery, just rest, and likely stems from his packed schedule.
He is currently scheduled to appear on every episode of Raw until WrestleMania as he continues to build his match with Brock Lesnar, but in terms of wrestling, it’s unlikely he will do so until WWE are completely convinced his back has healed.
Who would you replace him with at WrestleMania if for some reason he can’t make it?
