“We’re going to get a little retribution [at Super Showdown]” – Ruby Riott on Brie Bella

“We’re going to get a little retribution [at Super Showdown]” – Ruby Riott on Brie Bella

According to an interview with the Mirror, Liv Morgan has been “100% cleared” by WWE doctors and is ready to compete at Super Showdown.

On September 24, during her match on Raw with Riott Squad members Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan against the team of Natalya and the Bella Twins, Liv suffered a concussion after taking two kicks to the head following Brie Bella’s ‘Yes Kick’ sequence.

According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the referee did not know that Liv was injured until after Brie had covered her (which she kicked out of) and tried to bring her to the corner. Liv then stumbled her way towards the corner, unable to go there on her own.

WWE officials backstage were also seemingly unaware of Liv’s injury and asked the referee for more information. Dr. Amann and other medics checked on Liv’s condition at ringside as the match went on, which distracted the referee from a pin attempt.

During a pre-planned six-woman suplex spot, Liv returned to the ring to participate despite the referee warning her not to. She claimed that she was fine and did the spot anyway, leaving her feeling dizzy afterwards. It is still unclear how she was able to rush into the ring before the referee and ringside officials could stop her.

Despite being diagnosed with a concussion, Morgan passed all iMPACT tests at Monday’s Raw and was cleared to return immediately, starting with Super Showdown where she will once again come up against Brie.

In the interview with the Mirror, Morgan commented on her current status, noting:

“I’m 100% cleared by the WWE doctors. They took great care of me. They have a very extensive concussion protocol, which we followed 100% and luckily I am feeling fantastic and we are ready to win.”

Riott Squad leader Ruby Riott was reportedly unhappy with the Bellas backstage, especially as Brie had accidentally clocked her in the mouth with a forearm following the Liv incident. Riott had a few words of warning regarding the team’s upcoming match against Ronda Rousey and the Bella Twins at Super Showdown.

“We’re going to get a little retribution. We’re going to teach them a lesson and teach them whose locker room this is.”

Fighting words indeed. At the very least, the incident and the possibility of the Riott Squad doling out some receipts will make for a match that viewers will be paying eagle-eyed attention to, when it might have otherwise been just another match on the card.
