Before news broke about CM Punk being backstage at WWE Raw last night (April 24), Vince McMahon was the topic of conversation.
That’s because PWInsider reported that McMahon had made “major changes” to the script for the show, and talent unrest was bubbling up once again.
McMahon wasn’t actually at Raw in person, but was working remotely like he has been since the Raw after WrestleMania 39.
In terms of exactly what was changed, Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio:
“Vince changed a bunch of stuff at TV tonight.
“Changed a couple of matches, changed a couple of finishes, took some people off the show, put some people on the show.”

Specifically, Fightful Select mentioned that there was Piper Niven vs Candice LeRae match planned that never happened, seemingly replaced by the Street Profits vs Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin.
Last night’s Raw included the major announcement from Triple H of the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship, which will be the top title on whichever brand Roman Reigns isn’t on after the WWE Draft.
