A new report has revealed exactly when WWE decided this past Monday was the right time for Big E to cash in Money in the Bank.
E cashed in to beat Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship on Raw, a moment that provoked an outpouring of admiration for one of the most beloved members of the WWE roster.
As per Ringside News – which has been accurate with WWE backstage reports in recent times and has had many confirmed by the likes of Dave Meltzer and Fightful – it was only at this past Friday’s SmackDown that WWE decided E would cash-in on Monday.
The overall plan of Big E moving to Raw has been in place for some time, but the final decision to do it this past Monday was only made at the Madison Square Garden SmackDown.
Ringside News’ report also adds that the decision to move the Bobby Lashley vs Randy Orton WWE Championship match – after which E cashed in – from Extreme Rules to Monday’s Raw, was only made “shortly after” the prior week’s Raw.
It had been reported previously by Andrew Zarian that WWE had initially planned on Big E’s cash-in and brand switch taking place on the original WWE Draft date for Raw, which was August 30.
However, the Draft was pushed back and will now take place on October 1 and 4, and evidently WWE didn’t want to wait that much longer.
