WWE & AEW Stars Pay Tribute To Bray Wyatt Following His Passing WWE

The wrestling world has paid tribute to Bray Wyatt, real name Windham Rotunda, following his shocking passing.

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H took to social media earlier today to announce the passing of former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt at the age of 36 years old.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported:

I was given permission to reveal that earlier this year Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt) got COVID that exacerbated a heart issues.

There was a lot of positive progress towards a return and his recovery. Unfortunately today he suffered a heart attack and passed away.

Following this tragic news, several wrestlers from WWE, AEW and across the wrestling world took to social media to express their sadness for the passing of their late friend and peer.

WWE NXT star Dijak was one of the first to make a post to simply show his sympathy for the family. He wrote:

Bray Wyatt was such a lovely man to be around. He loved his family so much. I’m so sorry.

Another main roster star who recently made the transition to NXT is Dana Brooke. She also tweeted in response to Wyatt’s passing, saying:

I’m in a loss of words … my heart aches for Windham’s family…. RIP Bray!!!

Fellow main roster free agent-turned NXT star Mustafa Ali wrote the following:

We’re gonna miss ya, hoot.

It’s devastating to lose you.

It’s beautiful to see everyone remember you.

You really did have the whole world in your hands.

WWE’s Vice President of Global Talent Development William Regal worked with Wyatt backstage during his time in NXT and on the main roster. He tweeted the following:

Devastated to hear of the passing of Windham Rotunda, Bray Wyatt. My deepest condolences to Mike, Bo, Barry and all his family. Rest well my friend.x

Another wrestler familiar with Wyatt from his time in NXT is Saraya, who worked with Windham Rotunda for several years from FCW to NXT. The AEW star tweeted:

I can’t believe I’m typing this. But RIP Windham. I knew you day 1 of moving to America, you were the biggest sweetheart and were loved by everyone who met you. I’m in shock.. sending all my love to the Rotunda family.

Another female star from that era of NXT is Alexa Bliss, who also worked with Bray Wyatt on the main roster during his run as The Fiend. Bliss tweeted:

Just in shock. Really at a loss for words at the moment.

Former NXT Champion Big E is another star who came up with Wyatt in the WWE developmental system. The New Day member wrote:

Man…the first dude that took me under his wing when I got signed in 2009. We spent so much of our adult lives together. Praying for Jojo. Praying for his kids. I will miss your laugh & your boyish charm, my friend. Goodbye, Windham.

Saraya wasn’t the only AEW star to pay tribute to Wyatt as Keith Lee also took to social media to write the following:

The toughest part of this industry… is when you bond with people…. and then that bond is severed unexpectedly. RIP brudda.

I was rooting for you just like you did for me. I already missed you… but this… it’s painful. Safe journey my man.

AEW producer and former WWE producer Pat Buck tweeted the following:

Love ya, Windham. Such a tried and true brother. Always made a bad day hilarious. Deepest sympathies for the Rotunda family.

WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley was at a loss for words, writing:

Lost for words. RIP

Another WWE Raw star Ivar of The Viking Raiders wrote the following:

This has totally gutted me. He welcomed us to the main roster with open arms and was so so so kind to us. I just don’t know what to say

WWE has added the following note to the item descriptions for Wyatt merch on the WWE Shop website:

In the wake of Bray Wyatt’s death, WWE will donate all net proceeds to support JoJo Offerman and his children.
