Both WWE and AEW saw a major success in terms of television ratings last week.
Last Wednesday’s (July 5) episode of AEW Dynamite finished first for the night on cable, drawing in 855,000 viewers and scoring a 0.29 in the key 18-49 demographic.
WBD released a press release touting the success of Dynamite, which Tony Khan shared on Twitter after the show.
Fastforward two days, and WWE also saw a major success with SmackDown and the ‘Tribal Court’ segment.
The show saw WWE receive it’s highest 18 – 49 demographic rating since 2020, with the Tribal Court segment peaking at over 3 million viewers, the highest for any wrestling show ‘in quite some time’.
In an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), both WBD and WWE are very happy with the successful numbers for both shows this week.
The main event of Collision between Samoa Joe and CM Punk saw a significant bump to the Collision quarter hour ratings.
This week’s SmackDown show took place in Madison Square Garden, and set the record for the highest gate in the history of SmackDown.
