WWE/AEW
Andrade El Idolo is All Elite again following his recent WWE exit, and the reason he was able to return to AEW so soon has been revealed.
Notably moving from WWE to AEW to WWE to AEW, Andrade made his return on the October 1 episode of Dynamite, attacking Kenny Omega.
This came after Andrade’s WWE exit in September, which saw him reportedly fired due to a disciplinary issue.
An update has now emerged on how Andrade was able to return to AEW so quickly after leaving WWE, with main roster departees usually subject to a 90-day non-compete clause.
According PWInsider, Andrade was able to make his AEW return last night because there wasn’t a non-compete clause with his WWE exit.
The report states that Andrade “was cut due to numerous WWE Wellness violations over the last year,” and “WWE chose to cut him as opposed to paying him another 90 days to keep him from performing elsewhere.”
It further notes that the decision was made to cut Andrade outright, which would mean he wouldn’t fall under the non-compete clause that keeps released stars under contract for its duration.
With Andrade now back in AEW, Kenny Omega has reacted to the former his return on social media.
Andrade’s AEW return saw him attack Omega and seemingly join the Don Callis Family in the process.
Andrade initially joined AEW in June 2021, having parted ways with WWE earlier that year when his request for a release was eventually granted.
He would remain with AEW until his contract expired at the end of 2023, before returning to WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble.
