Two WWE stars have opened up about embarrassing their grandfather’s wrestling legacy as they reconcile their differences on WWE NXT.
Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo recently teamed up on WWE NXT to take on Dragon Lee & Nathan Frazer in a losing effort on the July 18 episode.
After that match, they had something of a falling out as Humberto shoved Garza to the ground.
Their move to NXT comes after they’d barely been used on the main roster throughout 2023.
In the exchange on this week’s August 8 NXT, Garza and Carrillo can be seen discussing their paths and, importantly, how they feel they’re not living up to the legacy of their grandfather, Humberto Garza.
Humberto Garza passed away in October 2022 at the age of 85 and was an EMLL star across three decades starting in the 1950s.
As can be seen in the video below, Garza and Carrillo both discussed how they were raised and trained in the wrestling business by the late Garza.
On Twitter, Garza promised that WWE NXT would see the “best version” of him going forward.
As I said… #WWENXT is going to have the best version of Angel Garza you’ve ever seen https://t.co/dx5opy8dOW
