With the Bloodline storyline perhaps nearing its end at SummerSlam 2023, WWE’s successor to the captivating saga may have now been revealed.
The Judgment Day have undoubtedly been the focal point of Monday Night Raw in recent months and now the internal perception of the popular faction within WWE has been revealed.
According to WRKD Wrestling on Twitter, WWE view the quartet of Damian Priest, Finn Balor, Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio as the successor to The Bloodline story, with recent viewership numbers indicating that the ongoing story with Judgment Day could perhaps reach similar heights.
WRKD Wrestling tweeted:
WWE see Judgement Day as the successor to The Bloodline’s storyline, in terms of fan interest and longevity.
The Judgement Day’s segments frequently gain major interest in the quarter hour ratings and will continue to be a center point of shows moving forward.
This tweet followed this week’s NXT (July 18), which saw ‘Dirty’ Dom capture the North American Championship from Wes Lee, indicating further that Judgment Day’s presence will be felt across more than just Monday Night Raw going forward.
While there have been teases of dissension within the group, primarily between World Heavyweight Championship number one contender Finn Balor and Señor Money in the Bank Damian Priest, the Judgment Day camp now seems on better terms than ever.
It remains to be seen whether a cash-in from Priest could complicate matters, potentially at SummerSlam, or whether WWE will intend to follow in The Bloodline’s footsteps and play the long-game instead of breaking the group up.
There is also the potential of a new member being added to the Judgment Day fold as JD McDonagh was previously teased to be recruited by Balor on WWE TV.
Now, after no real follow up on that aspect of the story, there has now been an update on McDonagh’s status and future within the Judgment Day – click here to find out full details.
