At the post-Fastlane 2023 press conference, Cody Rhodes was asked about Jade Cargill joining WWE from All Elite Wrestling.
Jade Cargill was only briefly featured on tonight’s premium live event, WWE Fastlane, on the pre-show meeting Triple H in the parking lot, a clip that was replayed on the main show.
When asked if he had a chance to chat with her about joining WWE, Cody said:
“I was very excited for her to make this jump and very proud.
“Jade came from The Nightmare Factory but I didn’t train her… QT Marshall, Carolyn Cuellari, they set her up, they trained her, they helped her get to this spot where she has made this big leap.
“… So I’m just very proud. Now the work begins. There is a mindset here at WWE, that didn’t exist, well maybe it did last time I was here, but that it is the most team-minded group I have ever seen as far as how the show comes together and this is an individual business.
“It’s tricky. It’s political. It’s showbusiness right you know? And that team mindset that we have has proved so fruitful so I just hope she can rise to the challenge and occasion.
“And I think for sure she’ll be able to.”

In the second part of the question, Cody was asked about others potentially joining WWE from AEW to which he said:
“It’s not gonna be my job to be the liaison to my former peers or whomever, I would hope everyone does what’s right for them, right? It’s what’s right for you.”
