WWE Confirms Dean Ambrose’s Departure

The reports were fairly conclusive as it was but now WWE have confirmed the shocking news that Dean Ambrose is on his way out of the promotion with the following statement:

“Dean Ambrose (Jonathan Good) will not be renewing his contract with WWE when it expires in April. We are grateful and appreciative of all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans. We wish him well and hope that one day Dean will return to WWE.”

It has been pointed out by some observers that it is very out of character for WWE to publicly acknowledge the departure of one of its superstars in such a manner, especially several months out, leading to the belief that this may be a work.

However, all reports indicate that this is not a work and that Ambrose really is leaving the promotion when his contract expires. Ambrose reportedly gave his notice to Vince McMahon and other WWE officials directly over Royal Rumble weekend, having been unhappy with his position and frustrated with how he has been used for several months.

Either way, it will be very interesting to see how Ambrose is used in the coming months or indeed whether he appears on television at all in this time.
