The decision to release Aleister Black does not appear to be a popular one within WWE.
A new report from PWInsider has stated that there is a lot of talk in WWE about the release of Black. This talk goes all the way up to the top executives in the company with the message being that Black’s release was premature.
The report also states that AEW’s interest in Black has sparked additional discussion within WWE. Black’s 90-day no-compete clause is set to expire in early September. Only after this point would he be able to sign with AEW.
The report notes that it remains to be seen whether or not WWE will pull the trigger on bringing Aleister Black back.
Samoa Joe was released earlier in the year on April 15, 2021, but made his return to the company this week on NXT.
