WWE Film Starring John Cena Places Into The Netflix Global Top 10 WWE

The 2006 WWE film starring John Cena entitled “The Marine” has placed into the Netflix Global Top 10 for last week.

John Cena has become a mega hit in Hollywood. Starring as “The Peacemaker” and in the “Fast & Furious” series has risen Cena’s profile among the top names in the business. However, some fans might not remember or have known at all that he once was “The Marine.”

According to the weekly Netflix Global Top 10 for the week of December 18 to 24, the 2006 film starring John Cena had 7.6 million hours viewed and ranked 10th on the list.

This means that many viewers discovered the WWE film for the first time over the Christmas holiday.

The movie follows a discharged marine rescuing his kidnapped wife from jewel thieves. This was produced by WWE’s own Vince McMahon and marked the acting debut for Cena.

The film also spawned a series of direct-to-video sequels starring the likes of The Miz and Ted Dibiase in the titular role.

With “The Marine” being a two-hour film, the film was played 3.8 million times on Netflix, according to that 7.8 million hours viewed.

The movie initially received negative reviews with many critics labeling it “exaggerated” or “so bad it’s good.” Now, fans have either rediscovered or discovered reasons to enjoy it.
