WWE is reportedly open to the idea of having stars contracted to other promotions appear in this year’s Royal Rumble matches.
Current IMPACT Knockouts Champion Mickie James will appear in the 30-woman match on January 29, following an agreement between WWE and IMPACT.
WrestleVotes has revealed that multiple WWE sources believe that the company will try for an ‘unexpected’ entrant for the men’s Royal Rumble match.
Confirming that WWE is open to the idea of opening the forbidden door for the men’s Royal Rumble, WrestleVotes tweeted:
“Had more than 1 source this weekend, w/o me directly asking, state they believe WWE will try for an ‘unexpected’ forbidden door entrant for the Men’s Royal Rumble. Personally I’m skeptical it happens, but I can confirm WWE is at least open to the idea. Which is exciting enough.”
