WWE Main Roster Name Returning To NXT Update

There has been an update on a WWE main roster name returning to NXT, with an NXT name set for a main roster call-up.

It was reported last week that SmackDown ring announcer Mike Rome was set to return to NXT as the ring announcer for the brand.

Alicia Taylor was on duty for last week’s show, but it seems as though that was her last night on the job.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Rome is set to be on call for tonight’s episode of NXT, which will be his first time announcing for the brand since 2019.

As far as Alicia’s future, Fightful had reported that she was expected to move to the main roster, and the talk backstage at tonight’s NXT show is that she will be announcing for the SmackDown brand moving forward.

Rome previously served as the ring announcer for the NXT brand between 2016 and 2019.

Tonight’s show is set to feature an NXT Women’s Championship match between Roxanne Perez and Chelsea Green.
