Following her selection in the WWE Draft 2024, recent WWE NXT call-up Lyra Valkyria has discussed her bond with Becky Lynch.
In the 2024 WWE Draft, former NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria was selected to the Monday Night Raw brand. This marked her official main roster call-up after nearly four years on the developmental brand.
At NXT Halloween Havoc 2023, Valkyria defeated Becky Lynch to win the NXT Women’s Championship in the main event.
In a new interview with TV Insider, Lyra Valkyria discussed her relationship with Becky Lynch. She said:
“I only met her a little down the line in my career. It has been so incredible to have that person to look toward who grew up down the road from me.”
“An Irish girl who has come so far is just crazy. To come from a place like Ireland, a lot of people don’t have that person they can look up to.”
“So to see what is possible through her and how far one can go is incredible.”
On the best advice that Lynch has given to her, Valkyria said:
“She told me to just be myself and have a lot of trust in what I bring, and I think it’s so clear she has been herself her entire career. That is what has taken her so far. I find that incredibly motivating.”
Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch are now both on the Monday Night Raw brand. Lynch is the current WWE Women’s World Champion on the show, while Valkyria will compete in the Queen of the Ring tournament starting on the May 6 WWE Raw.
WrestleTalk will provide any news and notes from tonight’s WWE Raw when they become available.
