Heartwarming Interaction Between Rey Mysterio & Surprising NXT Star

There was a sweet backstage segment on tonight’s NXT between a WWE legend and a young star who has suffered a recent defeat.

The segment featured Rey Mysterio telling Thea Hail that he truly believes she will become a champion one day – and his encouragement clearly was meaningful to her

However, her warm and fuzzy feelings from the legendary Mysterio were short-lived as the camera panned to Duke Hudson and Andre Chase who joined Hail.

Thea however was not interested in the visit, giving Andre Chase an enormous twitching eyeroll before telling him that unlike the Chase U leader, Rey Mysterio would never throw in the towel.

Taking to Twitter after the segment, Thea Hail reacted to the on-screen interaction, writing:

“OMG JUST OMG! Rey was my inspiration to start wrestling this was just truly amazing 🥹”

Rey Mysterio is at NXT to watch the NXT North American Championship match tonight and support challenger Dragon Lee in his corner as he takes on champ, Dominik Mysterio.

Elsewhere on tonight’s show, a WWE star was nearly unmasked during a match and there was a title change, albeit a ‘fake’ title.
