WWE Preparing NXT Star For Main Roster Return

WWE Preparing NXT Star For Main Roster Return

WWE are reportedly positioning a star on NXT for their return to the main roster.

Austin Theory was called up to the main roster early last year, when WWE moved to the Performance Center in the midst of the pandemic.

Teaming with Angel Garza in March for a match with The Street Profits, Theory made his WrestleMania debut the next month, fighting for the Raw Tag Team Championships.

By the summer, Theory had moved back to NXT. It is now being reported that WWE is preparing to move him back to the main roster once again.

As per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Theory has gained a wealth of experience from working with Johnny Gargano on NXT, but it’s clear that WWE want him performing on Raw or Smackdown.

Here is the full quote, courtesy of Ringside News:

“They clearly have big plans for Austin Theory because of his physique, although he was already on the main roster and they sent him down. Now they’re grooming him to come back. Whatever, it wasn’t the worst thing in the world to send him back down and in the end, it’s great experience to work with Johnny Gargano who’s such a great worker, but year. They’re definitely, you can really see they’re grooming him to get out of there.”

As mentioned by Meltzer, WWE are impressed by Theory’s physique, thinking he has the look to become a star on the main roster.

Theory stopped appearing on Raw in June. It was reported that he was quietly suspended, while a reason wasn’t reported, this was around the time that Theory’s name started to appear in #SpeakingOut allegations.

Theory is currently part of the NXT faction “The Way”, led by NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano. Recently defeating former champion Leon Ruff, the future looks bright for Theory.
