Several new WWE signings have potentially been revealed after the company’s latest round of big college athlete tryouts.
Said tryouts took place during SummerSlam week in August in Detroit, and there are also a couple of names that look to have been signed via the WWE Next In Line (NIL) program too.
Each week during NXT there’s a section of fans called the ‘Chase U section’, which is filled with Performance Center recruits in Chase U jerseys.
This week, Twitter user @lexveraux identified several new names that were in the Chase U section, and those names were people that were either at the SummerSlam tryouts, or part of the NIL program.
Evidently, this means they’ve either signed with WWE, or at the very least, were brought back to the Performance Center.
Of the names, the most intriguing to current WWE fans is most likely Anthony Luke.
Luke is a former San Diego State University defensive lineman, but he’s also Raw star Maxxine Dupri’s real-life boyfriend.
Another familiar name to a current star who was at the tryouts was Hassan Belton, who’s the real-life brother of NXT’s Trick Williams, although it’s unknown whether he was signed and he wasn’t one of the names spotted in the NXT crowd.
Back to the names spotted, there was also Destinee Brown, who’s a former USC track and field athlete and Team USA member.
Also in there from the tryouts were gymnast Aijea Lee Hargrave, and former Harlem and Syracuse footballer, Josh Black.
Black confirmed he had signed with WWE a couple of months ago.
From the NIL program, there was gymnast Derrian Gobourne, and wrestler Peyton Prussin.
One other interesting name spotted in the NXT crowd this week, although not in the Chase U section and a lot less likely to have been signed, was Japanese star Miyu Yamashita – for the details on that, click this link.
