A WWE star and former on-screen affiliate of Drew McIntyre has provided a fresh update on the Scottish Warrior’s status and potential return timeline.
Speaking to Cultaholic Wrestling, the Brawling Brutes’ Ridge Holland was asked about the former two-time WWE champion and gave his belief as to when we could expect to see him back in WWE.
Holland said:
“He’s fine, Drew’s fine.
“Yeah, he is probably in the gym as we speak, lifting two cows. He is fine; Drew is good.
“I don’t know for sure, I don’t know anything.
“But I think whether it is a month from now, two months from now, or three months from now, you will see Drew McIntyre back in WWE.”
Speculation regarding McIntyre’s WWE future has been rampant for much of 2023, with it being reported that his contract is due to expire in February 2024.
Their has been no fresh update indicating that McIntyre and WWE are closer to agreeing a new deal, however, a recent report from PWInsider Elite (via WrestlePurists) stated that plans were being drawn up creatively to get McIntyre involved on TV as soon as Money in the Bank on July 1.
However, whether a return does actually happen or not is dependent on if McIntyre is happy with the plans.
While McIntyre’s future remains in doubt, WWE has in fact announced when his next company appearance will be, to find out more follow this link here.
