This week on raw, an eight-man tag team turmoil match took place to determine the challengers for Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman’s Raw Tag Team Championships at Clash of Champions.
The match was ultimately won by Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler. Monday’s Raw marked the first time the duo had teamed together on TV.
The teams taking part in the match were:
- Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler
- Heavy Machinery
- Lucha House Party
- The O.C.
- Viking Raiders
- The B-Team
- The Revival
- Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder
However, Bryan Alvarez is reporting on the Wrestling Observer Radio that another team was actually considered for a place in the match.
“My understanding is that the Authors Of Pain were an option for last night and they decided not to use them, but there’s another team for you, the Authors Of Pain. Why are the Authors Of Pain not tag team champions?”
Besides from an appearance in the 51-man battle royale at WWE Super ShowDown in June, the duo have not been seen together on WWE TV since December 2018.
It is clear that both are fit and ready for a return to the ring. There is currently no word on why WWE is deciding not to use them.
