Top WWE Star Unhappy About Being Left Out Of Money In The Bank WWE

A top WWE star has voiced his displeasure at not yet being booked for a marquee match at London, England’s Money in the Bank event on July 1.

Despite putting on perhaps WWE’s best match of 2022 with Gunther at the last UK Premium Live Event Clash at the Castle, Sheamus is as of right now not set to compete at London’s Money in the Bank.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, the Celtic Warrior spoke of his bemusement at the decision, considering his consistent track record of excellent matches and loud crowd responses.

Sheamus said:

“I mean, selfishly I should. If it’s with Ridge too, that’d be great. But listen, last time we were in Wales (for Clash At The Castle in September), I tore the bleeding roof off the place. Nobody came close!

“Roman, Drew didn’t come close – and it was built around that match. Nobody came close to (me and Gunther).

“Every time I’m in there, I blow the roof off the place. Doesn’t matter if it’s in Cardiff, Wales, doesn’t matter if it’s in Lexington, Kentucky, MSG, the reactions I get are insane.

“Every time I get out there, I put on a banger. I should be the first person they’re thinking of – especially when a pay-per-view comes to Europe like that. So yeah, a hundred percent, I should be in there.”

Despite Sheamus himself may not be booked at the 02 Arena, his fellow Brawling Brute teammate Butch has earned a major opportunity, being one of six men to compete in this year’s men’s ladder match.

While he is happy for the young star getting his shine, Sheamus isn’t content to sit back and rest on his accolades just yet, still proclaiming his hunger to be involved at events such as Money in the Bank.

Sheamus explained:

“At this stage, 16 years. I’m not just sitting back and going, ‘I’m happy to be here’, and collect a paycheck. I’ve never been like that.

“For me, it’s always been about competitive side, the performing aspect. Everything else doesn’t even come into my mind.

“Everything I’ve done the last 16 years, I should be the number one name that they think of, especially when a pay-per-view comes to London, a stone’s throw away from Dublin, it’s insane! Especially when I cut my teeth there.”

Perhaps Sheamus may get his wish as himself and Ridge Holland are set to compete in a tag team gauntlet match on SmackDown for an opportunity at the Undisputed Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

While the winner will get a shot at the champions, it’s unclear when exactly the title match will take place.

Sheamus’ old tag partner and rival Drew McIntyre has been rumored to potentially be in creative discussions for a return soon, for the latest on the Scottish Warrior’s WWE status check out this link here.
