WWE Name Shoots Down In-Ring Return Rumors WWE

Tyson Kidd (TJ Wilson) has commented on the possibility of a wrestling return after he was forced to retire due to an injury.

Kidd hasn’t wrestled since suffering a career-ending injury during his match against Samoa Joe in a dark match in June 2015.

With the likes of Edge, Bryan Danielson and Saraya making wrestling returns following their forced retirements, there has been some speculation about the former WWE Tag Team Champion will also be medically cleared to step back into the ring.

Speaking with McGuire On Wrestling, Kidd noted that his injury is different, and that a wrestling comeback isn’t on the cards for him.

Commenting on his current status, Kidd said:

“Here’s what I don’t think people quite understand, but I wrestled close to exactly 20 years.

“I get where you see these things and think that it means I’m coming back, but the truth is, when you have something like that for such a long period of time, for me, wrestling was always a physical outlet.

“I feel like I needed to replace that physical outlet and I upped my time and intensity in the gym a little bit.

“Yeah. It’s so funny, I answer this all the time and then people don’t believe it, and I understand why.

“We’ve seen so many other people say that they’re retired or whatever and they come back, and that’s great, that’s cool.

“It’s not in the cards for me. I have a different injury than most people.”

Kidd has been working as a WWE producer since 2017. Usually producing matches and segments for the women’s division, Kidd’s work has been celebrated by both talent and higher-ups in recent years.

Another WWE star has provided an update on their wrestling hiatus, which you can read more about at this link.
