WWE Star Comments On Sale Rumors: “I’m Not The CEO, I’m A Wrestler” WWE

One WWE star had an interesting response to questions about WWE business dealings and the departure of Stephanie McMahon!

Well that is one way to strategically say ‘no comment’ when asked!

One current WWE Champion was asked about the copious potential sale rumors floating around about WWE and had an interesting albeit accurate reply!

Speaking to Joe Hayden of Dallas Morning News, WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther was asked about recent rumors that WWE was being sold to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.

Not one to mince words, the Ring General had a genuine answer, saying:

“I mean, rumors are rumors. And at the end of the day, I’m not the CEO. I’m a wrestler. So, I focus on what I do in the ring and leave the business to the people that do business.”

Speaking about the recent development that former co-CEO Stephanie McMahon was stepping down from her position within the company, he said of their relationship:

“To be fair, I only had very brief interactions with her. She’s always been very nice and very lovely.

“And yeah, I’m happy for her that she’s going to be able now to take time off and enjoy time with her family. And yeah, I think you should be happy for anyone who’s in a position to do that. All the best to her.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Gunther talks about taking on his next big challenge: Braun Strowman.
