WWE Star Admits To Feeling Frustrated & Stagnant WWE

WWE star Montez Ford has admitted to former SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Street Profits feeling frustrated and stagnant.

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins, collectively known as The Street Profits, have captured the Raw, SmackDown and NXT Tag Team Championships.

However, the duo has not held tag team title gold since they lost the SmackDown Tag Team Championships in January 2021.

In recent months, Ford and Dawkins have aligned themselves with Bobby Lashley and have started building momentum again.

Speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, The Street Profits discussed their heel turn and recent partnership with Lashley. Ford said:

“I think it’s kinda like an easy transition because we were able to apply what we’ve been feeling internally to what’s happening on camera.”

“For the last couple of years, Street Profits have had a tremendous amount of success but in a way it’s kinda stagnant, just got idle for a little while.”

“With that grows frustration and anger, because with the hunger to wanna do more, to advance and have more accomplishments in life, that frustration starts to grow,”

Ford continued on to explain that it was hard for the fans to get behind them when they kept coming up short in tag team title matches, saying:

“We just firmly believed that the way that we were doing it – the old way, or the nice way – obviously was not working.”

“This way seems to have not just a shift, but has been giving us the momentum that we need, but also the edge that was already there,”

The Street Profits are set to face Pretty Deadly and The Brawling Brutes in a triple threat match to determine the number one contenders for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships on tonight’s November 17 edition of SmackDown.

Also announced for the show, LA Knight will go one-on-one with Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa will make his return and Damage CTRL will speak following Asuka joining the group last week.

WrestleTalk will provide any news and notes from tonight’s SmackDown when they become available.
