Ahead of tonight’s WWE Raw, former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston has opened up on his “incredible” King of the Ring match.
At WWE Backlash 2024, the company announced the first round matches for the Raw side of the King of the Ring tournament that will take place on the May 6 episode of Monday Night Raw.
Included in the first round bouts, a pair of former WWE Champions will do battle as Kofi Kingston will go one-on-one with Rey Mysterio.
Ahead of tonight’s Monday Night Raw, Kingston took to social media to open up about his bout against the WWE Hall of Famer. He wrote:
I have to express gratitude that I get to face one of my heroes & all-time favorites tonight on #RAW.
Over 16 years in & I still get to do incredible things in this industry?! My inner child is screaming, lol. Truly #blessed. Me & @reymysterio bout to tear this sh*t DOWN!
The other King of the Ring tournament first round matches on tonight’s Raw will see Drew McIntyre vs. Finn Balor, Ilja Dragunov vs. Ricochet and GUNTHER vs. Sheamus.
