On tonight’s WWE NXT, a star who just left his former stable has seemingly turned heel after the final match of the night.
With the WWE NXT World Champion Ilja Dragunov at ringside for the bout, Trick Williams and Josh Briggs were set for a match.
After an earlier backstage interaction saw a bit of friendly albeit terse back and forth between the pair, they looked to settle their minor squabble in the ring.
However with a notably darker attitude throughout, Josh Briggs was set to make a pretty clear heel turn by the end of the match.
Although he did deliver a massive boot to the face of the WWE NXT World Champion Ilja Dragunov, the act was described as ‘inadvertent’ from commentary.
In the end, Briggs would lose the match after outside distractions involving Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes, and obviously did not take the loss well.
Trick Williams did pick up the official victory but the celebration would be extremely short lived as then Briggs would go on to attack Trick with a massive clothesline.
This one was anything but inadvertent, seemingly marking a continued progressive heel turn for the former tag-team good ol’ boy.
Josh Briggs had previously been a member of a blue collar cowboy stable featuring himself, Brooks Jensen and Fallon Henley until the trio recently officially went their separate ways.
Elsewhere in the final segment of the show, Lyra Valkyria and Roxanne Perez signed the contract for their WWE NXT Women’s Championship match at the upcoming premium live event, Vengeance Day.
After the signing however, Tatum Paxley snuck out from beneath the table and attacked Perez, dropping her through the table which infuriated the babyface champion.
