Two WWE stars were ‘abducted’ on NXT ahead of a championship match, thereby eliminating any mystery for the upcoming bout.
While Tony D’Angelo received a Heritage Cup Championship match against the No Quarter Catch Crew for next week on NXT, the Crew looked to keep things mysterious.
In a backstage segment, Charlie Dempsey did the talking as he said that while they would accept Tony D’Angelo’s challenge, in true ‘Catch Clause’ form, they would not be telling him which member of the Crew he would be facing.
Later in the show the match for the Heritage Cup Championship was confirmed but the graphic displayed all three members of the Crew.
However by the end of the show, it would be confirmed that Tony D’Angelo would be facing specifically Charlie Dempsey for the NXT Heritage Cup Championship.
That was of course because the D’Angelo Family abducted Myles Borne and Damon Kemp!
As the Family was shown shoving Kemp and Borne in the back of their SUV, Tony D’Angelo had a message directly to Charlie Dempsey – the Don of NXT is the one in control.
You can see the full clip from the moment below but needless to say, it appears that Tony D’Angelo will be facing Charlie Dempsey next week on NXT.
Elsewhere in the main event of tonight’s episode (May 7), Chelsea Green lost in an NXT Women’s Championship match against Roxanne Perez but did briefly reunite backstage for a moment with her former manager Robert Stone.
