Earlier on this week, it was reported that WWE wants to use Rey Mysterio’s son Dominik as a wrestler. The belief is that Dominik will be ready to step into the ring by early 2020.
It is thought that Rey Mysterio’s current storyline, where he references his family, is going to be used to bring Dominik into the company in a full-time capacity.
Tom Colohue has followed up his report by suggesting that WWE might not want Dominik to wrestle in NXT, and see him jumping straight to either Raw or Smackdown.
#wwe don't necessarily believe that #nxt is the best way to get him over. Instead, a storyline involving his father is considered a better option. https://t.co/hfh6g4c131

This is a rare move by WWE, with even established stars such as Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe having to complete stints in NXT before moving to the main roster upon signing for WWE.
