John Cena, Steve Austin & The Undertaker WWE WrestleMania 40 Status Update

John Cena, Steve Austin & The Undertaker WWE WrestleMania 40 Status Update WWE

There has been an update on the statuses of John Cena, Steve Austin & The Undertaker ahead of WWE WrestleMania 40.

Ever since The Rock’s bloody beatdown of Cody Rhodes on the March 25 WWE Raw – a segment which saw a production truck in the background featuring Cena and Austin on it – speculation has been rampant regarding a potential WrestleMania 40 appearance for both legends.

Similarly, whenever WrestleMania comes around it’s hard not to think of The Undertaker, perhaps the star most synonymous with the yearly extravaganza.

So, just a day out from WrestleMania 40 kicking off, we have a new update on the statuses of Cena, Austin and Undertaker, courtesy of Dave Meltzer’s latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Meltzer writes:

John Cena will be shooting the second season of Peacemaker starting in June.

The last word we got was he was free that day, would like to do it, but physically it would be limited.

When asked about Cena, Undertaker and Austin, the answer was they were not going to wrestle in matches, which at this point would be the expected answer.

Meltzer had previously reported that WWE had been in discussions with all three about potential returns at Mania.

Cena last competed inside a WWE ring at Crown Jewel 2023 in November, where he convincingly lost to The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa.

While The Undertaker has shown no signs of coming out of retirement, Austin on the other hand did just that two years ago at WrestleMania 38 where he defeated Kevin Owens.

WrestleTalk will provide further updates on Cena, Austin and Undertaker’s WrestleMania 40 statuses as/when they become available.
